1. Disassemble and inspect
Take out the nut of the ball-returning device, take out the steel balls from its installation holes one after another, loosen the connecting parts and remove the bad nuts. It was found that part of the raceway of the screw and nut and the raceway of the ball return device were extruded and deformed, and some steel balls were broken, so the steel balls could not roll normally in the raceway.
2. Component trimming
Check the injuries in detail after cleaning all parts. Clean the deformed part with a file and an oilstone, and the protruding part that is higher than the original position due to extrusion: the first two turns of threads on the screw rod that are severely deformed are cut into a smooth outer circle by lathe, so that the diameter is less than or equal to the diameter of the screw rod, and the sharp edge is blunt.
3. Trial-fitting nut
After the ball-returning device and nut are cleaned again and checked correctly, put the former into the latter, and pay attention to the proper inclination angle-the inlet and outlet of the ball return groove are tangent to the raceway interface at the bottom and both sides, to facilitate the free entry and exit of the ball when working.
4. Rotating
Grease the nut raceway and the bead return groove of the bead return device, stick steel balls and screw them in. It is quite difficult to rotate and center the head. If you rotate it slightly, the ball will be messed up, or the first groove will be screwed in smoothly, but the second groove will not be screwed in.
5. Grinding
Evenly dip 15-20 steel balls around the undamaged part of the screw rod as a grinding tool. After cleaning the nut from which the steel ball is taken out, screw it in until it is slightly tight.
6. Post-assembly inspection
Reinstall the parts into the CNC lathe, grease the lubrication parts, and start the test run. When the screw rod is rotated by hand, there is no resistance, the Z axis runs normally and the bed table moves normally.
